Lightest Structure

Back to the Product Main Page

The layup of the fuselage is the lightest possible for such a large airplane. Only 1 layer 2oz cloth each side sandwich a 0.5mm hand picked balsa wood. A strip of Kevlar and a patch of carbon in just the right place do the reinforcing. Gear former from carbon sheeted plywood and wing sleeve with fixture donut are factory installed.
Then there are the two crucial fuselage formers, one behind the canopy and one in front of the rudder fin, and in between the foam crutch with the diagonal supports to the rear wing dowels, well proven in our Integral design. Fuselages broken in flight – with the Valiant these stories belong to the past.
Wing tube and stab tube are strong carbon tubes. Even anti rotation pins are made from light weight carbon tube. For the glow engine users balsa strips are included to increase the contact area between root ribs and fuselage, so that vibration rubbing doesn’t cause damage.
