Thomas Naumann

I was born in 1963 and have been involved in model aviation for as long as I can remember.

Over the years, I’ve always been drawn to CARF-Models. Even in the early days of Andreas Gietz, I flew models like the Eurosport, Tutor, and Viperjet. When I began focusing on jet competition flying, I chose the CARF-Models L-39—a decision that proved successful, as I competed with this model for many years at championship level.

During this time, I also became a team pilot for CARF-Models. I had the opportunity to take over and restore the team’s demo model, the P-47 “Bubbletop.” Not long after, I added another scale jet to my fleet—the F-100, finished in the iconic Thunderbird livery.

Since 2005, I’ve won multiple German Championship titles in the Scale, Scale Jet, and Jet Aerobatics categories. In 2018, after more than 50 first-place finishes throughout my competition career, I made the decision to step away from competitive flying and focus on enjoying the many other facets of model aviation. And being part of the CARF-Models team makes that especially easy…
