General Information

The cooperation between Ceflix, PS-Models and CARF-Models is not new to our customers and where all these impressive airplanes are made is a very open secret... So it was a natural development that CARF-Models soon would also help distributing the smaller line of extremely powerful scale gliders as seen in Ceflix' and PS-Models product catalog. As a result the smaller line of gliders is now available at CARF-Models, too. It got the CARF treatment in terms of prefabrication and detail improvements and adjustments for the international markets and HERE IT IS: The CARF-Models Kobuz-3 3m! It introduces a performance never seen before.

Composite high-end Construction for the extremest glider experience!

It's the epitome of a painted in the mold, all carbon, scale, ultra performance acrobatic glider with only the best materials and components used. Not too big, so that it's still easy to transport and store, but also has already a huge potential for the aerobatic maneuvers in the glider mode.

Fuselage

The fuselage is all carbon in all the load carrying areas, only the front part of the fuselage under the canopy is fiberglass, as we needed to make sure the RC-Equipment will work properly. Dual layers of 45 degree carbon, longitudinal unidirectional reinforcements make the fuselage safe for 400+ km/h dives. The smoked canopy is finished, fitted to the frame, which has been painted in the factory. Pins and tabs to secure it to the fuselage are also factory istalled.

Wings

The Wings are also completely made from carbon fiber. Multi layers of carbon in the skin wrap around an incredibly stong main spar. Control surfaces are hinged and a sealing lip is factory installed. Control horns, servo mounts, hatches, linkages are all pre-built. For the Flaps high end 15mm servos are used, for the ailerons 11-12mm servos. We recommend our Mac Gregor MGB5216 and MGB2611 as the best, most powerful and most reliable option.

A solid 20 x 35 mm cross sectioned carbon wing joiner carries the flying loads as a "floating spar", whereas the wings are joined to the fuselage with 4x 8mm carbon pins and 2x M6 knurled nuts.

Tail

The horizontal stab is also a full carbon design with elevator pre hinged on elastic hinge, sealed with composite lips. It is removable with one single bolt, automatically disengaging the massive control horn when removed. The rudder is attached with a steel pin to 2 carbon hinge posts in the fin, solidly glued into a plywood spar. A pull/pull setup connects it to the rudder servo installed right behind the landing gear.

Of course, all control horns, hinge posts, pins, dowels, servo hatches, are factory installed.

Engine Choice

The CARF-Models KOBUZ-3 can be flown in many ways. Perfectly suited for awesome but still economical 60-70N turbine as well as electric power with the commercially available retractable EDFs or various FES. Breathtaking in any version, simply the BEST on the market for the thrills of flying high performance powered gliders. For basic slope soaring and aero-towing there is no engine needed. Otherwise it can either be powered by a 60-70N jet engine, a retractable electric ducted fan or an FES (electric front motor with folding prop). The truth of the matter is more like that it can be banged around so that "gliding" becomes an unnecessary flight stage, except for landing...

PNP - Service

We do offer an extreme high end assembly service in which we deliver a PNP model including the preparation for the engine mount, full servo and wire installation, main wheel and fuel tank installation. If you're receiving this model in the PNP Version it only takes a couple of hours to complete the build process... Flying a turbine glider can't get much easier!

Accessories

We do offer various accessories for our Kobuz-3 3.0m. From the turbine installtion KIT, which inclcudes the wheel and all needed accessories for the turbine installtion over a complete Mac Gregor Servo SET with our CARF-Models servo arm to a 3D-printed servo frame Set with bearings.

Flying Characteristics

The CARF-Models KOBUZ-3 is incredibly versatile—perfect for slope soaring in the mountains, aero-towing for scale aerobatics, or powered flight using a 60–70N turbine, retractable EDF, or FES. But let’s be real: this isn’t just a glider—it’s a rocket with wings. With a 720°/s roll rate, rifle rolls are effortless, and 15+ G turns are fair game. You’ll see the wings flex from aileron input alone—right wing up, left down, and vice versa—despite feeling rock-solid on the ground.

Need a breather? Kill the engine for a Pop-Top, glide a bit, then land smoothly using powerful flap/aileron crow. Built with carbon throughout, it’s nearly unbreakable, 450+ km/h safe, and handles full-throttle pull-ups without flinching. Whether you’re tearing up the sky Reno-style or cruising low and slow, the KOBUZ-3 delivers—on grass, asphalt, or remote mountaintops.

The CARF-Models KOBUZ 3m is a kind of its own. Raw, powerful, elegant and sexy.
