Dean Lampron

My name is Dean Lampron. I am from Hatfield, MA and I have been flying RC airplanes since I was 12 years old. I was taught to fly and build by my Dad, Dave Lampron. The first few years of my RC career were spent flying pattern with my Dad and older brother. As a teenager, I was able to spend 3 years with John Schroder at Clover Creek in Tennessee, where I studied and practiced precision aerobatics, along with coaching other youth pilots. Currently, my Dad and I, along with my girlfriend Stefania, spend our time attending fun fly events and some contests throughout the flying season in the USA. In the winter, we focus on building together and getting ready for the new season.

In my time flying, I’ve flown in Clover Creek Invitational, XFC, Tuscon Aerobatic Shoot Out, and the AMA USA Pattern and IMAC Nationals with several wins and podiums.

I really enjoy every aspect of RC flying, but if I had to pick one specialty, it would be precision aerobatics. I take pride in what I build and enjoy being able to test the limits of each plane. Alongside of sequence and freestyle flying, I really enjoy flying scale models, especially warbirds. Thanks to CARF-Models, every specialty is in one place! When building my airplanes, even before being a Team Pilot for CARF-Models, I found CARF-Models were always built more strategically and stronger. My first CARF-Model airplane was an Integral F3A model that I competed with in the 2009 pattern season.

Currently, I am flying a CARF-Models P51, Rebel Classic, 2.6m Extra 330LX and, in the works, the 3m Extra 330LX to have finished for next year’s Airshow and contest circuit. My Dad and I are also working on the CARF Corsair with a Moki 250 and MacGregor servos, hoping to have flying in 2024 season.
