General Information

Small Sport jets are trendy...! The CARF-Models Joker is following this development, based on our former, smaller EDF Sport Jet "Spark", now slightly enlarged, simplified in design, and prepared for the increasingly popular 70-80 N jet engines.

The smallest Sport Jet in our fleet, yet still high-performance!

ARF KIT

160 cm wingspan and a little under 2m length, single-piece wing and stab mounted to the fuselage from the bottom with 2 dowels and 2 bolts, all control surfaces pre-hinged as elastic flaps; all these features follow the successful path of our larger sport jets, such as the UltraFlash. To make it even more compact, the fuselage has a removable nose cone, allowing it to be transported in very small cars. And the box size is very small as well, so UPS can ship it around the globe at economical prices.

ARF KIT Details

The component layout is very simple; open ducting and a single central fuel tank make the installation very easy and light. It is prepared to side-mount 8 common 15 mm servos, such as a Mac Gregor MGB 5216 HV. Prefabrication has been taken to the point where only the servos need to be clicked in, and the engine needs to be mounted with 4 screws. The electric retract is included in the kit and already installed. A complete hardware set includes linkages and all necessary hardware in German quality. Also, in terms of prefabrication and completeness, it serves as a benchmark.

Fuselage

The Joker's fuselage has a separate nose cone to allow easy access to the nose gear and possibly to house batteries. There is enough room for the turbine between 70-85N, and all the wooden parts are already preinstalled and ready for the RC installation.

One Piece Stab

All elevator servos are prepared to be mounted inside the stab. Common size 15mm servos are used. A regular 15 mm Mini Servo just drops in and gets held down with a carbon plate and two screws. High-quality linkages, cut to their exact length, are included in the hardware bag.

Engine Choice

Subtle yet noticeable changes in this area have significantly improved the overall quality and practicality of the UltraFlash. The Turbine mounting itself hasn't changed, but we have redesigned how the thrust tube assembles and mounts in the fuselage. The connection between the carbon bell mouth and the stainless thrust tube is prepared with pre-drilled holes, allowing it to be inserted into the fuselage and then screwed together in seconds. We have also changed the thrust tube material to the hard and superlight 0.15mm stainless steel we were able to source.

Last but not least, a new fuel tank with 3.5 l capacity will eliminate the need for the wing tank when using larger engines, and render the optionally available saddle tanks completely unnecessary. Instead, the wing tank can be used for smoke. Therefore, the intakes have been shortened, and the removable intake liner has been eliminated. This simplification of the fuel system is one of the biggest improvements, we're sure. For the SPEED junkies, the optional small main tank, in conjunction with the full intake liner, is still available and can be installed.

Landing Gear

A new electric retractable landing gear has been designed and put into production, which fits the new Joker like a glove. Highly abrasion-resistant wheels are installed, and electric brakes are perfectly dimensioned for a smooth and safe stop.

ARF+ or PNP - Service

We offer an extremely high-quality assembly service and can deliver either an ARF+ or a fully flight-ready PNP model – including turbine, fully installed servos and wiring, electric retracts, and pre-installed fuel tanks. If you choose the PNP version, final assembly takes only a few hours… Getting a sport jet like our UltraFlash EVO into the air has never been easier! At the same time, the images show what your model can look like after assembly – a true masterpiece of engineering and design.

Accessories

For our Joker, we offer a wide range of accessories. These include electric retractable landing gear from either JP or Electron, matching fuel tanks, the thrust tube, and an optional UAT. Additionally, we offer high-quality MacGregor servos in combination with our own CARF-Models servo arms – perfectly matched to the model and the demands of a high-performance sport jet.

Various Color Schemes

Like all our airplanes, the Joker is not different. It boasts meticulously applied PU paintwork, expertly executed in the molds. If you're seeking a personalized touch, we offer color swaps and fully custom designs developed through collaboration between you and our skilled artists. Below are our Standard Schemes and a few standout examples:

Flying Characteristics

There is no difference in flight performance to even significantly larger Sport Jets. The CARF-Models Joker flies "large". Not twitchy at all, rock solid, it all maneuvers. The speed range is wide, and both the aerobatic capabilities and the slow flight characteristics are extremely impressive. You have to see it, you have to fly it yourself to believe.
